This is an hour long program designed to teach you and challenge you to work the muscles as hard as you can to induce a high enough level of fatigue to produce results. You are always under the supervision of one of our instructors who will help you perform the exercises correctly. We focus on full body, functional type of movements that help the entire body learn to coordinate and work together to produce quality movement. All exercises are taught at the beginner level and as you personally progress, progressions are provided to make it challenging on a daily basis.
Strength and Cardio Circuit
This is typically an hour long program that provides a blend of strength training and cardiovascular conditioning by way of a “circuit”. A circuit is simply a way to organize the exercises into a logical order to allow one part of the body to recover while other parts of the body are active. Circuit training has been proven to help increase lean muscle mass and reduce body fat. It also helps keeps your attention focused because you are changing and moving positions regularly while you train.
Kettlebells are an old traditional method of building full body, integrated strength, that has made a comeback in recent years. Kettlebell classes are designed more for people who have already been strength training for a while and are comfortable with good technique and their personal strength. But that said, anyone can start up with a kettlebell class as long as they are prepared to work from a beginner level and progress as the instructor and them agree.
This is a type of strength class that uses thick, dense rubber bands as the form of resistance for all exercises. The benefit of bands over other types of resistance is it provides what is called a dynamic elastic type of resistance. That means that the further you stretch it, the harder the resistance, and also the harder your body must work to “control” the recoil effect of the elastic. Imagine stretching an elastic on your finger and then letting it go, it’s a pretty powerful action, in these band classes your body must learn to control that power so it forces us to get much stronger. Band classes are designed more for people who have already been strength training for a while and are comfortable with good technique and their personal strength. But that said, anyone can start up with a band class as long as they are prepared to work from a beginner level and progress as the instructor and them agree.
